Glastonbury 2025: Watch Raye perform fiery ‘Escapism’

Raye took to the Pyramid stage for her delicious mix of R&B, pop, and soul at a fiery Glastonbury Festival set. Her rendition of the massive hit ‘Escapism’ sent the crowd into a frenzy.

The singer has played at Worthy Farm once before. In 2023, she made her debut Glastonbury performance on the Pyramid Stage, which she now returns to as gracefully as the first, with fewer noticeable nerves.

Raye took to her 2025 set with much enthusiasm, candour and energy. The artist has had a tumultuous career; in July 2021, she publicly ended the contract she had with her label after claiming that they were preventing the release of her debut album, which eventually came out in 2023.

The early hurdle didn’t set her back for too long, as the artist made Brit Award history in March 2024 when she took home a whopping six Brit awards. Since then, the musician has shown no signs of slowing down.

Performing ‘Escapism’ for the vast crowd, Raye was at the top of her game. The audience looked delighted, singing along to the slick, fresh dose of R&B.

Far Out spoke with Raye when she was first breaking out onto the scene, and discussed her relationship with Saturday night’s headliner, Charli XCX, who was an early collaborator of hers. “I love working with her she’s an amazing writer, she was one of my main inspirations for wanting to be a songwriter as well as an artist.” This seems fitting, as Charli XCX will play only 90 minutes after Raye’s set.

Friday night at Glastonbury saw The 1975 headline the Pyramid Stage and Loyle Carner headline the Other Stage. Later on Saturday night, Charli XCX and Neil Young will compete for a crowd, while on Sunday, Olivia Rodrigo will close the weekend.
