Glastonbury 2025: Watch Lola Young perform ferocious rendition of ‘Messy’

Taking to the Woodsies Stage at Glastonbury Festival on June 27th, indie-pop singer-songwriter Lola Young had the Friday afternoon crowd singing loud and fierce along with her hit song ‘Messy’.

At her first Glastonbury performance in 2022 in the Silver Hayes Area, the singer was only 21 years old. After her initial performance, she wrote on Instagram, “This is a beautiful thing. Such a beautiful thing…”

The same sentiment is evident at her 2025 set. Lola Young hit the Woodsies stage to an impressive crowd that only grew throughout her set. After the excitement of the first Friday morning begins to wane, those playing afternoon slots have the difficult job of holding the attention of fans who realise just how tricky standing on their feet all day is.

Lola Young has explosive, anthemic indie-pop hits under her arm, such as ‘One Thing’ and ‘Conceited’. The song everybody wanted to hear at the Woodsies stage was none other than her magnum opus, ‘Messy’, climbing steadily to a billion listens in no time on Spotify. When it finally came, the crowd heartily sang along, dancing and swaying in all the usual Glastonbury glory.

Lola Young also featured on Tyler, The Creator’s recent album, Chromakopia, released in 2024. She lent her vocals on the moving track, ‘Like Him’. With only one album out, Young has an impressive list of accolades linked to her name. She was nominated for the BRIT Award for Rising Star in 2021 and Best Pop Act in 2025. She made it a night to remember, performing hit song ‘Messy’ live at the 2025 BRIT Awards.

Later this evening, indie-pop legends The 1975 will headline the Pyramid Stage and perform their only show of 2025. Loyle Carner will take to The Other Stage. Across the weekend, the likes of Charli XCX, Neil Young, CMAT and Pinkpantheress will perform, alongside hundreds of other names and some secret sets, too.
