Forwards 2026: Lorde and Djo announced for special one-off show
Lorde and Djo will top the bill for a special one-off show connected to Bristol’s Forwards Festival in 2026.
The New Zealand pop star will headline the main stage on August 28th, a day before the main Forwards Festival takes place over August 29th and August 30th in Clifton Downs, Bristol.
As such, it marks the first time that Lorde has ever performed in the city, after completing the massive UK leg of her Ultrasound tour at the end of last year, where she visited arenas in Manchester, London, Glasgow, and Birmingham.
In a statement released alongside the huge announcement, Tom Paine, the co-founder of Team Love, the organisers behind Forwards, said: “Announcing Lorde is an incredibly exciting moment for us. Building on the spirit of Forwards, we’re excited to bring Bristol another world-class musician and experience across the bank holiday weekend.”
He added: “Welcoming Lorde to the city feels like the perfect way to begin – she’s an extraordinary artist, and this promises to be a truly special night for Bristol.”
To mark the momentous occasion, Lorde and Djo will be joined by a massive supporting line-up in the form of Audrey Hobert, Rose Gray, Esha Tewari, and Grove.
The rest of the main weekend line-up for Forwards has not yet been unveiled, but with artists such as Ezra Collective, Nia Archives, Olivia Dean, and The Last Dinner Party topping the bill for its last edition in 2025, it is set to make for another thrilling weekend in 2026.
The announcement of Lorde’s headline show at Forwards comes as the latest in a line of festival appearances and headline dates she has slated for next summer in the UK, including All Points East in London, which she is set to perform at on August 23rd.
She is also set to headline the Royal Highland Showgrounds in Edinburgh on August 25th.
Tickets for Lorde’s show at Forwards will be made available via presale on February 5th at 10am, which fans can sign up to access via the festival’s website. General sale will then go live from February 6th at 10am.
