Boys Forever make us want our summer back with ‘Voice In My Head’

Seriously though, where did the summer go? Blink and you’ve missed it. Lucky Patrick Doyle, the drummer from indie-noir darling Veronica Falls, in his incarnation as Boys Forever channels garage rock sunshine in his new track and video for ‘Voice In My Head’. There’s even a self-titled debut album on the way on the 5th August.

Patrick says: “Having recorded the album during overnight sessions the year before, I felt that when I returned to Los Angeles in March I wanted to see more of the city. My friend Mat picked me up and we drove around all day, trying to visit as many typically LA places as we could. We went to the Observatory, Hollywood High and Santa Monica Pier. Mat cut the footage together with some that I shot during recording sessions last year at Golden Beat in Glassell Park.”

We need lotion for this blazingly catchy tune. Simple lo-fi pop with and added garage rock crust make this one of the tracks to brighten our mood beyond the murk of the British weather. Hooky and heartfelt it could easily soundtrack your summer romance. Or your slightly overcast one at least.
