‘Foreign Tongues’: The Rolling Stones seemingly confirm new album title with cryptic posters
The Rolling Stones have seemingly confirmed their new studio album will be called Foreign Tongues on a series of cryptic billboards.
Taking to social media over the weekend, The Stones shared posters featuring their iconic tongue logo along with the title Foreign Tongues translated into a series of languages.
Fans have also shared their own images of the posters on social media, which have been spotted everywhere from Manchester to Warsaw, as the legendary rock band continue to tease the impending announcement.
The release date for Foreign Tongues has yet to be confirmed. However, when The Rolling Stones recently released their new single, ‘Rough and Twisted’, as a vinyl-only release earlier this month, it was priced at £10.07 in the UK and $10.07 in the US, leading fans to believe their new album is set for July 10th.
Notably, July 10th is also a Friday, which is the day of the week when new albums are released.
The new album has seen them team up with Andrew Watt once more, who was at the helm for their chart-topping 2023 record, Hackney Diamonds.
Watt confirmed his involvement in the next Stones LP last summer, cryptically telling Rolling Stone, “When the tongue is up in the air, you just go… I can say we did some recording together, but that’s all I can say.”
Sadly, a new album from The Stones doesn’t reportedly mean that they’ll be hitting the road to celebrate their latest project. A spokesperson for the band told The Times earlier this month, “The Rolling Stones will play when they decide to, not before. There are no concerts planned.”
This comes after they previously reportedly cancelled plans for a 2026 tour amid Keith Richards’ arthritis, which has impacted his ability to perform live. Additionally, in 2025, it was slated that The Rolling Stones were due to hit the road across Europe, including dates at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, which didn’t materialise.
While their future as a touring band remains up in the air, at least there will be another record to keep fans happy this summer.
