Foals take on Mark Ronson and Lykke Li’s ‘Late Night Feelings’ in the BBC Live Lounge

Foals took to the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to give not only a very special performance of their song ‘The Runner’ but a cover of the Mark Ronson and Lykke Li’s ‘Late Night Feelings’.

The Oxford band took to the studio in promotion of their new album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 2 and gave a very special performance during their stint. The highlight came though with their cover.

A long-standing staple of the music scene the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge asks artists to not only perform one of their new tunes but give a rendition of a favourite song from the past or present. Foals chose ‘Late Night Feelings’ which came out earlier this year to perform on the Clara Amfo-hosted show.

The track does what all great covers should do and transcend from one artist to another. The version Foals give us here is stereotypical of the band. Intricate string work, a layering of sounds and sonic motifs all completed with a rousing crescendo.
