FKA Twigs and Chloe Sevigny to star in erotic thriller, ‘The Lonely Woman’
FKA Twigs will star in the upcoming erotic thriller The Lonely Woman, with Chloe Sevigny now also set to join the cast.
Although the actors’ roles in the film have not yet been revealed, the project has been described by directors Boy Harsher as a “bleak, sensual and atmospheric horror-thriller,” combined with on-screen musical performances from Twigs, Sturgill Simpson, Will Oldham, and Jake Weary.
According to Deadline, the movie has now wrapped its filming process in upstate New York, and is slated for release at some point in 2026.
The Lonely Woman marks the directorial debut of American electronic music duo Boy Harsher, made up of Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller, as an immersive film produced by Spacemaker and Base 12, in association with Good Bath.
The official plot synopsis for the movie explains that it follows a woman haunted by the death of her first lover, who was killed in a mountain tunnel.
However, when a fresh disappearance occurs within the town, she finds herself drawn to a commanding and unnerving presence buried beneath its walls.
It comes as FKA Twigs is continuing on her stratospheric rise as both a musician and an actor. Earlier this year, it was announced that she is set to play activist and 1920s icon Josephine Baker in a new biopic.
She is also in the midst of a slew of other film projects, most recently including the horror The Carpenter’s Son, which was released at the end of October and saw her star opposite Nicholas Cage.
Focusing on her music career, the singer’s latest album Eusexua was nominated for this year’s Mercury Prize, ultimately losing out to Sam Fender’s People Watching at the ceremony in Newcastle last month.
