The first image of Tom Hardy in the role of Al Capone has been released.
Hardy will play Capone, who is battling dementia, in Josh Trank’s forthcoming biographical film, Fonzo.
Having already posted a behind the scenes shot of him in action via his official Instagram account, the film’s production staff have now released an official press image from the film. Hardy, smartly dressed in a suit with red scarf, is smoking a cigar while donning impressive facial makeup to age him.

Previously Far Out reported the news that Jaime Meline, better known by his stage name El-P, has landed the job of creating the score for the upcoming Al Capone biopic.
BRON Studios has announced that El-P has been chosen foe film, which is called Fonzo and was written and directed by Josh Trank. Tom Hardy will play the role of Al Capone and will include the likes of Kyle MacLachlan, Linda Cardellini, Jack Lowden, and Matt Dillon.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this movie,” El-P said in a press release. “I’m a huge fan of everyone involved.” Josh Trank added, “Since I was 14 years old, El-P’s music has been one of the most important creative influences in my life. There’s literally no greater honour for me than to collaborate with him today and bear witness to this next stage of his artistic journey.”
