First Aid Kit forced to cancel tour due to “unforeseen medical circumstances”
First Aid Kit have been forced to cancel their summer tour due to “unforeseen medical circumstances” the band have confirmed.
Sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg, who had a major appearance at London’s All Points East scheduled in as part of their tour, explained that they are “devastated” by the news/
The folk duo took to social media to confirm the cancellation, addressing their fans by saying “beloved listeners and followers” and explaining that the shows have become impossible to put on.
“We’re devastated to have to cancel the planned summer dates this year,” the statement began. “We were super excited to play, but because of unforeseen medical circumstances we simply cannot do the shows. All will be okay and we look forward to seeing you soon again.”
The new album Ruins was released in January last year and was followed by several tours in Canada, the US, Europe and Australia. Following that, the Swedish outfit performed their first run of arena concerts in UK in November.
The shows in the UK would again perform material from their most recent album, combining it with the popular and most recent release of EP Live from the Rebel Hearts Club, a digital record that contains live versions and reworkings of five songs from Ruins.
Among the cancelled dates are First Aid Kit’ eagerly anticipated shows in Glasgow, London and Belfast as well as an extensive run in Canada.
