Summer festival season might seem like a long way away, but the organisers of Field Day have bought us something to help us look past the dreary winter months, in the form of the first load of acts on their 2017 line-up.
Heading up this long list of talent playing the London festival this year is electronic pioneer Aphex Twin, in what will be his first UK show in over five years.
Aphex Twin AKA Richard David James, will headline a brand new ‘second stage’ at the festival, called the Barn.
Also named amongst the first wave of acts is Aussie psych-rock outfit King Lizard and the Gizzard Wizard – who have just announced that during 2017, they will release five (yes five) studio albums in the space of just a year, they join the likes of Flying Lotus, Death Grips, Moderat, King Sunny Ade, Mura Masa, Whitney, DJ Nina Kraviz, and Omar Souleyman.
The festival will return to Victoria Park for the 11th incarnation of the event, following a triumphant 10th anniversary show last year, which saw the likes of PJ Harvey, Mystery Jets and John Grant entertain the crowds.
Early bird tickets are already sold out, so don’t hang around for this one.
