Festival Preview: Dot to Dot Festival 2017

Dot to Dot Festival brings you back to the UK with a real unique take on the festival experience. Unlike your standard UK Festivals like Reading, it takes the whole line up through each city together. So they all travel together to play in the following city the next day.

This metropolitan festival taking place across Nottingham, Bristol and Manchester has our team salivating at the mouth thought of the carnage each day will bring. Bands roaring in and leaving the city not quite sure has happened to it within a matter of 24 hours.

As it is within a city the festival makes use of the best venues across the cities, bringing with them new talent to fill their stages. This is a great one for the local lovers, who prefer a Great British holiday over the sunburn and Cerveza.

The Growlers
Formed in California in 2006, the band has released 5 studio albums and three EPs. They have a trademark style of music they encompass California with surf, pop and rock feel, which has been given the label of Beach Goth. A band you need to make sure you do not miss.

The Big Moon
A band whose debut album ‘Love in the 4th Dimension,’ has just been released on the 6th of April 2017. Having toured internationally this London four piece have a show that is not worth missing.

Cherry Glazerr
A classic trio of bass, drum and guitar, that created a storm being noticed just one year of performing together. Now joined by two new members Allen and Ashworth the band are ready to tear the festival scene apart this summer.

Formed on the streets of Manchester in 2011, Pins a rock band who are force to be reckoned with. They state some of their influences like: My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain and Hole. A far cry away from the bucket hats of stone roses and the flowers of Morrissey the usual influences of a Manchester band.

With the event taking place in Manchester, the festival have moved to quash any fears fans may have following the devastating terror attack which occurred earlier in the week.

In an official statement, festival organisers wrote: “Dot To Dot Festival has been in touch with Counter Terrorism Security Adviser at GMP Counter Terrorism Branch and discussed the Dot to Dot Festival in Manchester this weekend. In solidarity with the resilience of the amazing people of Manchester and the power of live music, Dot to Dot Manchester will be going ahead.”

“Dot to Dot is a festival about bringing people together and enjoying a day out watching live music and having fun. We have taken stock and thought deeply about whether it’s appropriate for us to go ahead in the light of what’s happened – and we have decided we will hold the event. We can’t forget what’s happened, but we don’t want to let fear and hate stop us.”
