It would seem that not even a global pandemic has been able to slow down the speeding franchise of the Fast & Furious, with the tenth instalment set to skid onto our screens by 2023.
Universal Pictures has announced that they will be hoping to open the double-figured chapter from April the 7th, 2023, following on from June’s ninth effort that seemed to pass some people by.
Justin Lin will once again helm the project with a returning cast of Vin Diesel and his usual car riding cohorts, with Diesel also retaining his role as a producer which he has held since 2009.
The project is still very much in its embryonic phase, so it is unclear whether John Cena and his old wrestling chum Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will be returning and what sort of speeding plot they will inhabit if they do.
However, it has been confirmed by Diesel that Cardi B will follow on from her role Fast 9, that filming for the tenth will begin in January 2022, and, at least for now, that the eleventh outing will be the last.
Notably, director Lin has also said that the two final films will run on as one project. He told Collider: “I think part of it for me is to know that we’re not treating this as one film. I mean there’s a lot we’re exploring.”
For fans who think that it seems like a long time to wait, then at least you have nine previous films to occupy your time with.
