The Brighton band have been around a few years now but seem to have hit the correct note with this latest offering. ‘Holding On’ manages to add deep melancholy to an otherwise thrashing vocal performance from frontman George Smale. It’s our Track of the Day.
Adding a violence and darkness to an otherwise indie-pop sound the band manage to sound both genuine and theatrical, it’s something which will endear them to their fans. A culpable sense of a new era surrounds them currently and this new track will not harm that.
Produced by The Magic Gang’s Kristian Smith, the track manages a Nordic temperament with injections of British fuzz. In the middle of a week it’s a track that speaks volumes.
