Emmys 2025: The full list of nominations revealed as ‘Severance’ and ‘The Penguin’ dominate
The full list of nominations for the upcoming 77th edition of the Emmy Awards have been revealed in a ceremony in Los Angeles.
Harvey Guillen, Brenda Song and Television Academy chairman Cris Abrego delivered the news of the nominations from the Academy’s North Hollywood base at 8:30am local time on July 15th.
Severance was the most nominated drama series with 27 nods across all of the categories, trailing closely behind is The Penguin with 24 and The White Lotus landed in third place after securing 23 nominations.
Other programmes with cause for celebration include the Netflix limited series Adolescence, which landed 13 nominations, and Hacks, which was the most nominated comedy with 14 nods across the categories.
Prior to the official announcement, CBS already shared the ‘Outstanding Reality Competition’ and ‘Outstanding Talk Series’ categories before the full list of nominations was revealed. For the latter, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Daily Show and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert secured nominations.
This year’s ceremony will take place on September 14th at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. It will air live on CBS and Paramount+.
For the first time, comedian Nate Bargatze will host the Emmys in 2025. In a statement, Bargatze previously said of stepping up as host: “It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show and I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world.”
“Nate is one of the hottest comics in the business with a remarkable and hilarious brand of comedy that deeply resonates with multi-generational audiences around the globe,” said Television Academy chair Cris Abrego in a statement.
