Earl Sweatshirt shares new song ‘The Mint’

Following on from a three-year hiatus, Earl Sweatshirt returned a few weeks back with the brand new sound of ‘Nowhere2go’ and now he’s back with another banger of a new song called ‘The Mint’.

The song features Navy Blue and sees Earl regain his position as one of the thinking man’s leading artists. Not dependant on hooks or pop beats, Earl is developing his own niche within the saturated hip-hop world.

The new track is another reminder that waiting for 3 years (following his sophomore album I Don’t Like Shit I Don’t Go Outside is far too long for an artist of his quality. Happily, the new track comes with news on a new album as well! Some Rap Songs will specifically address the death of his father.

“Me and my dad had a relationship that’s not uncommon for people to have with their fathers, which is a non-perfect one,” Earl said. “Talking to him is symbolic and non-symbolic, but it’s literally closure for my childhood. Not getting to have that moment left me to figure out a lot with my damn self.”
