Eagles Of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes deletes posts about “pathetic and disgusting” anti-gun protests

Eagles of Death Metal's Bataclan survivor Jesse Hughes calls gun control protest 'pathetic'

Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes has lashed out at a series of protests taking place across the US in a bid to enforce stricter gun control.

The protests, entitled ‘March for Our Lives’, has seen hundreds of thousands American students take to the streets to protest gun violence. Hughes posted five different right wing memes on his Instagram account and then proceeded to delete three of them following a backlash. In one post, Hughes compares people returning guns to control points the same as men dismembering themselves to end rape.

Emma González, a survivor of February’s Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, has been a leading activist and spoke during the protest. In a delete post on Hughes’ Instagram, the Eagles of Death Metal shows a photoshopped image of the young woman tearing up the a copy of the US Constitution in half.

In one of posts that Hughes did not delete, it displays illustrations of a woman saying: “I turned in my gun to do my part in ending violence,” to which a man replies, “I chopped off my own dick to stop rape.”
