Drinks share new song ‘Hermits On Holiday’

Back in January we knew we had already seen one of the gigs of the year courtesy of White Fence.

Tim Presley took to the stage within the intimate surroundings of Kraak Gallery in Manchester with a very special guest on guitar, Welsh songstress Cate Le Bon. And now the pair have gone one step further and joined forces to come up with a full collaborative album under the pseudonym Drinks.

Today’s Track of the Day here at Far Out is ‘Hermits On Holiday’ – the title track and the first to be unveiled from the LP, which will be released by Presley’s Birth Records in conjunction with Heavenly Recordings on August 21st.

The song is probably closer to Le Bon’s recent work on her 2013 album Mug Museum. A deft riff is sprinkled with her ever-infectious vocal, with Presley pulling the strings in the background.

Even though few knew anything about this project until earlier this week, it sounds like one of the most natural comings together of two fantastic artists in their own right that we have heard for quite some time. We eagerly await more.
