Drake cancels Manchester Co-op Live show due to “unforeseen” issue

Drake has cancelled his upcoming show on July 28th at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena due to “travel logistics”.

The news was made by way of a statement on the arena’s website, which said: “Due to unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics, tomorrow’s performance in Manchester on July 28th has been rescheduled.”

It then read: “The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it’s set to be an unforgettable night.”

As part of his $ome $pecial $hows 4 UK tour, the rapper had already performed two shows in Manchester on July 25th and 26th, and the now rescheduled show was set to be his third and final.

The tour began on July 20th, gifting the UK with limited concerts in Birmingham and Manchester. Then, Drake and support act PARTYNEXTDOOR will head to Amsterdam, Zurich, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Milan, Paris, Berlin, Munich, and many other major cities.

His shows this summer across the UK are part of his first European tour in six years. Despite this cancellation, the ‘One Dance’ singer has been making the most of Mancunian culture after dropping a new song, ‘Which One’, with UK rapper Central Cee. This was released last Thursday during an episode of his Iceman stream, which was filmed around the city, including at Victoria Baths and the iconic Manchester Piccadilly railway station.

The song was first previewed at Wireless Festival earlier this month, where Drake headlined three nights. Drizzy played the track on stage at the start of the third night. Central Cee was shown rapping along in the crowd.

The Toronto rapper also recently paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne in Birmingham. On July 22nd, Drake was in the city for his run of UK tour dates and stopped by Black Sabbath Bench to show his respects. During his July 23rd show, Drake walked out to Black Sabbath’s ‘Iron Man’ and told fans, “Hey Birmingham! Rest in peace to the legendary Ozzy Osbourne.”
