Diet Cig cancel college show in light of anti-LGBT policies

Diet Cig, the pop-punk duo of Alex Luciano and Noah Bowman, have cancelled their show at Messiah College following the discovery of some extremely embarrassing anti-LGBT policies.

The band were due to perform on November 29th at the Pennsylvania college but have pulled the gig. “It was brought to our attention that they have some serious anti LGBT policies.” tweeted the band, “and we have no desire to support or benefit from an institution that discriminates against its LGBT”.

The band then cited an article from The Atlantic where excerpts of the college handbook could be found. In brief it stated “students who experience same sex attraction or identify as gay or lesbian are expected to refrain from ‘same sex sexual expression’ as it is embodied in culturally contextual practices (e.g., identifying as a couple or exhibiting expressions of physical intimacy)”.

It’s an embarrasment for the college who now have to explain to their students quite how lost in the stone age they are, as well as why Diet Cig won’t be performing there any time soon.
