David Hasselhoff: “I’m recording heavy metal songs on my new album”
David Hasselhoff has revealed his plans to record some heavy metal tracks for his upcoming album.
The Hoff, best known for his acting roles in Baywatch and Knight Rider, enjoyed commercial success as a musician in the 1980s with his third studio album Looking for Freedom. The record, a pop rock number, went triple platinum in Europe and the album’s lead single went to number one.
Now though, with plans to release his new upcoming album, the 66-year-old is taking things in a different direction: “I’m doing some heavy metal songs on my new album,” Hasselhoff told Zeit. “Why not?”
Hasselhoff, a self-proclaimed fan of Iron Maiden and Metallica, said he hasn’t found a name for his record yet: “I do not have an album title yet, but it should read: ‘Everything is allowed.’ I do everything. Because I can. Because I want it,” he said.
