David Fincher adds new name to cast of ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’
JB Tadena has joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix movie The Adventures of Cliff Booth, directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt.
According to Deadline, Tadena, who has previously taken on roles on American television including in Kung Fu and The Cleaning Lady, will make his big screen debut in the film, which also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, and Carla Gugino alongside Pitt.
So far, specific details regarding the plot and characters in the movie have been kept tightly under wraps, but it is understood that the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel will see Pitt’s titular character, Cliff Booth, transform into a saviour of Hollywood.
Filming is set to begin later this year, with Fincher helming the project as director and Quentin Tarantino, who directed the original 2019 movie, this time writing the script.
However, when the announcement of the film was made back in April, it was made clear that The Adventures of Cliff Booth would not be a direct second instalment of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, as Tarantino ultimately owns the rights to the characters.
Instead, the film will have its own distinct plot. Rumours continue to swirl that Leonardo DiCaprio will also reprise his role in some capacity, although this has not been officially confirmed.
Pitt confirmed this when he revealed some scant details regarding the film during a red carpet for his latest film, F1, recently, where he said: “It’s an episode, not really a sequel, of the character from Once Upon A Time. He [Tarantino] didn’t want to direct it at this point, so our mutual friend David Fincher stepped in, and we’re going to start filming in July. It should be really good fun.”
A release date for The Adventures of Cliff Booth has not yet been revealed.
