David Bowie named Britain's greatest entertainer of the 20th century

It appears the British love affair with David Bowie is not just a crush. No, this is the kind of true love that permeates many of the late great singer’s songs as David Bowie was last night crowned Britain’s greatest entertainer of the 20th century.

Bowie, it turns out, beat some incredible talent such as the iconic Charlie Chaplin and Marilyn Monroe as well as fellow singer Billie Holiday to win the entertainer category. He will now be in the running against Nelson Mandela and Ernest Shackleton, among others, in an additional poll to determine Britain’s greatest icon of the 20th century.

We know which way we’re voting, that’s for sure.
