Danny Elfman and Trent Reznor combine on new version of 'True'

Danny Elfman and Trent Reznor have teamed up for a brand-new studio version of ‘True’. You can check out the accompanying video below.

The pairing is hugely notable as Danny Elfman has never previously collaborated with anyone in his career. As he announced in a statement: “This is the first duet/collaboration I’ve ever done in my life, so to do it with Trent was a real surprise and a treat.”

Further adding: “[Reznor’s] always been a big inspiration to me, not to mention he has one of my all-time favourite singing voices.”

The legendary composer’s new effort with the Nine Inch Nails frontman is a rollicking industrial reimagining of the original in all of its scary glory.

The track first appeared on Elfman’s 2021 release Big Mess which was the first solo album in 37 years for the revered screen composer.

The video for the track mimics the disturbing sound with garish imagery provided by director Aron Johnson, who has previously worked with Lil Nas X and Lizzo among others.
