Damien Hirst’s 60 foot demon sculpture is moving to Las Vegas
Damien Hirst’s 60 foot sculpture Demon With Bowl is moving to Las Vegas.
Las Vegas’s Palms Casino Resort has purchased the bronze headless piece of work which has been François Pinault’s Palazzo Grassi museum in Venice, Italy.
The monstrous sculpture was created by Hirst for his somewhat controversial Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable exhibition. Now, the owners of Palms Casino, the billionaire collectors Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta, secure the work for their resort. While the final amount remains undisclosed, it is speculated the final valuation price taken from the original show is in excess of $14 million.
The sculpture joins a host of other work by Hirst which is being held at the resort. The Fertitta’s also own a 13 foot long tiger shark which is preserved in three steel tanks, numerous different paintings, and a number of exclusively created bar accessories.
