Dakota Johnson gets splattered with blood while filming new movie ‘Verity’ in New York
Dakota Johnson has been filmed getting splattered in blood while shooting her new movie, Verity, on the streets of New York City.
The upcoming film is an adaptation of Coleen Hoover’s smash-hit novel of the same name, Verity. The book was originally self-published in 2018, and has since sold more than two million copies worldwide. Verity is the second Hoover novel to receive a movie adaptation following It Ends With Us, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
Verity has been in the works since 2020 when Amazon MGM Studios purchased the rights to make the book a movie.
Anne Hathaway stars in the lead role of Verity Crawford, a famous novelist who recruits Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer portrayed by Johnson, to complete her best-selling novel series which she can’t contribute to due to a mysterious illness. Josh Hartnett plays Verity’s husband, Lowen.
The film’s logline reads: “Upon arrival at the lavish Crawford estate, Lowen slowly learns that things are not exactly as they seem with the discovery of a secret, unfinished manuscript that may divulge chilling admissions about the family’s past.”
It continues: “As Lowen ingratiates herself with Jeremy and his young son Crew, she must discern if Verity’s writings are merely lurid works of fiction or an ominous warning by a deranged psychopath.”
Although there is no specific release date for Verity, it is set to arrive in cinemas in 2026. The movie is currently shooting in New York City and those wandering the streets on March 12th may have accidentally stumbled across Johnson being covered with fake blood, which can be viewed below.
