Dakota Johnson on filming ‘The Office’ finale: “The worst time of my life”
Hollywood actor Dakota Johnson has reminisced about appearing as a guest star in the finale of the American television series The Office, referring to it as “the worst time” of her life.
Recalling the experience with Seth Meyers, Johnson discussed being a huge fan of the show, which inspired her to pursue the opportunity to be a guest actor on the final episode of the show. However, it failed to meet her expectations.
“That was honestly the worst time of my life,” Johnson said, during her segment on Late Night. “They were like, ‘Do you want to be in the series finale?’ And I was like, ‘Of course,’ thinking that I’d show up for like half a day. I was there for two weeks. And I’m barely in the fucking show.”
After Meyers asked what the atmosphere was like on set that day, Johnson added: “There were weird dynamics that had been going on for the last ten years. Some people didn’t speak to each other. And I’m coming in like ‘So excited to be here!’ No one wanted to talk to me. No one gave a fuck…I was like in the background of all of these scenes, faxing things.”
The final episode boasted various esteemed stars and characters, including the return of Steve Carrell’s Michael Scott and Mindy Kaling’s Kelly Kapoor.
Since the show ended, numerous cast members have stepped forward to share their experiences, reflecting on both the positive and negative aspects of their time on the series, as well as its enduring influence on their careers.
Lead star Carrell, for instance, admitted that since appearing on the show, “I have never had a job where I didn’t look into the camera at some point,” which was responded with agreement from Angela Kinsey, who added, “Same for me! I actually had a director say, ‘Um, Angela. You just looked right down the barrel.'”
Meanwhile, Johnson recently hit out at Hollywood, labelling the whole industry as “boring” and “bleak”.
The Madame Web star confessed: “The people who run streaming platforms don’t trust creative people or artists to know what’s going to work, and that is just going to make us implode.”
