Daft Punk are reportedly set to score the new film from the iconic Italian filmmaker Dario Argento.

Argento, 79, is set to begin shooting on the film shortly and it will be his first feature film in eight years, a Giallo entitled Occhiali Neri which translates in English to Black Glasses. Although many details are being kept secretive for now it is believed that the film will star his daughter, Asia Argento.

Occhiali Neri will also be filmed in Rome and the surrounding countryside. The plot apparently involves a Chinese woman and her child but, apart from that, the specific details of the plot remains unknown.

In an interview with Italian publication La Repubblica, Dario Argento confirmed that Daft Punk would be scoring the film.

Argento stated that Daft Punk themselves were the ones who offered up their services with the filmmaker after they heard about the project and felt compelled to get involved.

The Parisian maestros are supposed to travel to Rome as soon as it is safe to do so and, when it is possible, they can will Argento the first bit of material that they have concocted for the film. The report also claims that the band will hand the material to him personally to make sure that there is no chance of it somehow finding it’s way on to the internet.
