Cypress Hill share first new music in three years with ‘Champion Sound’

In what is a pleasant surprise for all Cypress Hill fans, the band has returned with their first new music in three years in the shape of ‘Champion Sound’.

The hip-hop icons teamed up with Black Milk, who was tasked with the challenge of producing and mixing the band’s first release since the 2018 effort Elephants on Acid.

The new track also featured on the soundtrack R.B.I. Baseball 21, the eighth edition of the R.B.I. franchise. Detailing the track a little more, a press release explained that it was due to be part of “the world’s largest smoke session and performance”. That show will be a 4/20 livestream from the Roxy venue on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles

“We’re really excited to give our fans a taste of what we’ve been working on since ‘Elephants On Acid’,” member B‑Real said, before adding: ”We can’t wait for you all to hear what’s up next.”

In other Cypress Hill-related news, the band also announced the impending release of a new graphic novel, entitled Cypress Hill: Tres Equis, which is due to be released in August as part of a wider celebration of the 30th anniversary of the group’s debut album.

For now though, listen to the new song, below.
