Actor and poet, Craig muMs Grant, has passed away aged 52. His cause of death remains unknown.
Grant most notably portrayed convicted murderer and drug addict Arnold Jackson on Oz. The show notoriously famed for having a high turnover of characters due to the neverending murders, but Grant’s character managed to survive the show’s entire run from 1997 until 2003. He also worked with Spike Lee on several occasions, including an uncredited role in BlacKkKlansman.
“We are heartbroken over the loss of one of the most genuine, caring, loving souls we have ever had the pleasure of representing,” the talent agency said in a statement. “Craig was more than our client, he was our dear friend. We all just lost a phenomenal man.”
The actor also had roles in films such as Birdman, The Price, Good Time, and Bringing Out the Dead. On TV, Grant made appearances in Luke Cage, Chappelle’s Show, Boston Legal, Horace and Pete, The Sopranos, and Law & Order: SVU.
At the time of Grant’s death, the actor worked on the Starz series Hightown in Wilmington, North Carolina. Grant planned to travel to Atlanta on Monday to film scenes for filming in the BET series All the Queen’s Men. He also recently worked on the Steven Soderbergh movie No Sudden Move.
