Courteeners announce huge Manchester show in 2026
Courteeners have announced a massive homecoming show at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park next summer.
The Manchester group, led by frontman and songwriter Liam Fray, released their debut album St. Jude in 2008, and have been playing huge shows for almost two decades.
Now, they’ve announced a huge show in Manchester on August 29th, 2026. They’ve invited some big industry names to join them, too: they will be supported by The Vaccines, who will perform their debut album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? in full.
Also on the line-up is Merseyside band The Coral, as well as Bristol dance duo Getdown Services and Girl In The Year Above.
The band’s most recent album, Pink Cactus Café, was released on October 25th, 2025, through Ignition Records. It featured an array of special guests, including Australian group DMA’s, rising indie-soul singer Brooke Combe, The Coral’s James and Ian Skelly, and Hurts frontman Theo Hutchcraft.
The album charted at number two on the UK Official Album Chart. It was closely followed by a sold-out arena tour of the country.
The ‘Not Nineteen Forever’ musicians are familiar with huge crowds. Among many festival appearances, the band pulled off a sold-out show at Manchester’s Heaton Park in 2023, which saw 50,000 people celebrate the 15th anniversary of St. Jude.
Similarly, The Cure recently announced that they will also play a headline set at Wythenshawe Park on August 21st, 2026, just over a week before the Courteeners’ huge day out. The Cure will be joined by British rock band Slowdive and Manchester’s own The Slow Readers Club.
Charting the ten greatest riffs of the indie boom, Far Out recently praised an underrated Courteeners classic, writing, “From their album Concrete Love, ‘Next Time You Call’ shows listeners a different side to Courteeners, a side that is a lot more rock-heavy and guitar-oriented. The solo-like opening of the intro has your ears on end the moment it’s played, and the track is easily one of the band’s catchiest. Without a doubt, it’s an underrated tune.”
