Communions ‘Don’t Hold Anything Back’ on newest track

The Danish band who romanced us so thoroughly last year have returned for their first release on new label Fat Possum. Communion’s style of pop-noir is yet again on show with ‘Don’t Hold Anything Back’ it’s a sharp 80’s indie inspired song with enough hooks to scare fish out of the water. The track comes out on Fat Possum as a 7 inch on Septmeber 16th alongside track ‘Eternity’.

The quartet have left their previous punk sensibilities a little behind on this latest song and instead embraced the darker side of pop and showed us all that pop is no longer a dirty word. It has nuances of The Cure and weirdly the Stone Roses but all with an effortlessly cool edge.

Formed in Copenhagen the band have a habit of encapsulating a very British sound without sounding contrite which is no small feat and ensures that the praise they are consistently lavished with is consistently deserved. There’s even some dates with tour mates Sunflower Bean on the horizon.
