Coachella 2020 has been postponed amid Coronavirus outbreak

The promoters of Coachella Festival have confirmed that the event has been postponed amid the Coronavirus outbreak. The festival will now take place in October.

Another event falls victim to COVID-19 as Coachella 2020, scheduled to take place in Indo, California from April 10th-12th and 17th-19th will now take place on the weekends of October 9th-11th and 16th-18th. Information regarding refunds will be sent to those who have purchased a ticket.

It will be the first time the festival has not taken place in April since 2001 and will also be followed by Stagecoach, Goldenvoice’s Country music festival, as it is also postponed until October.

Currently, with the statement below, Goldenvoice have yet to confirm whether the line-up will stay the same for the postponed event. Headliners Frank Ocean, Rage Against the Machine, and Travis Scott. are joined by Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert, Thom Yorke, Run the Jewels and so many more.

SXSW was the most recent large-scale event to be struck down by the concerns regarding Coronavirus, with Pearl Jam’s North American tour also being canned. We’d imagine many more will follow in the coming weeks as the pursuit of viral containment gathers pace.
