Haim have called on some friends to create the new visuals for their ‘thank you version’ of the new song ‘Hallelujah’.
‘Hallelujah’ arrived as the band’s third single from the new record earlier this year, a track born out of grief as the group lost a close friend who passed away following a tragic car accident. “It’s a song about family, love, loss, and being thankful for it all,” Alana Haim, the youngest member of the band, said in a post on social media.
That track was originally released with accompanying visuals from the acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson who has a budding collaborative relationship with the Californian indie-pop trio. Now though, they’ve shared a lo-fi effort to thank their fans at the end of the year.
“2019 is coming to a close and here’s a little something to say thank you for all the love you guys have given our songs that we released this year,” the band said of the video.
“We appreciate everyone who submitted and we added a few surprises too! There’s so much more we want to share but you’re just gonna have to wait till 2020. I’m not crying you’re crying.”
