CABBAGE yell ‘Kevin’ across our Christmas

So it’s nearly Christmas, ignore the spring like weather, we thought we would bring you some festive cheer. Well, we say festive what we really mean is a hybrid form of post-punk-psyche-surf-etc. That’s our definition of festive, because let’s face it, if it isn’t screwing you up it’s not exactly Christmas.

Said screwing up comes via Manc band CABBAGE and their latest release ahead of their forthcoming EP, the slightly deranged ‘Kevin’. The song doesn’t really ever lay a glove on a genre. It really does rank in that mysterious ‘uncategorised’ zone, which in an age of constant categorisation, is a welcome relief.

What we do know is that it is a bit fucking mental and therefore very high up on our ‘most played’ list. The track slides between punk, surf, Happy Mondays psyche and everything in between. It sounds decisively British and without pretence, like a group of people truly expressing themselves rather than catching a drift. It’s refreshing and bizarre.

Get a load of it below and thank us later.
