Bruce Springsteen, Timothée Chalamet and Dua Lipa all set for ‘Saturday Night Live’
Bruce Springsteen, Timothée Chalamet and Dua Lipa are among the names announced to be hitting 30 Rock to take part in Saturday Night Live over December.
The legendary institution, which is currently on its 46th Season, is returning to NBC and Sky Atlantic on December 5th. The eighth episode of the current series will be hosted by Arrested Development and Ozark actor Jason Bateman with country star Morgan Wallen being the musical guest. Wallen was meant to perform earlier on in the series but after a controversial video of him went viral on social media — one that saw him partying maskless — he was forced to pull out and replaced by Jack White.
Speaking in a video at the time, Wallen said: “I’m not positive for COVID, but my actions this past weekend were pretty short-sighted and they have obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams. I respect the show’s decision because I know I put them in jeopardy, and I take ownership for this.”
The following week, Call Me By Your Name’s Timothée Chalamet will take up the reigns as host with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band performing. Springsteen previously appeared on the show back in 2015. The final episode of the series takes place on December 19th and British pop star Dua Lipa will be the musical guest while former cast member Kristen Wiig will return to host.
The series has welcomed huge names so far this series including Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Adele. It was the first time that the British pop singer hosted proceedings and put in a supremely impressive performance as the host of hit American television show Saturday Night Live, delivering a slick and well-rehearsed effort while displaying her comedic charm in a series of humorous skits.
