Brit Awards 2026: Mark Ronson to be honoured with ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music’
Mark Ronson is set to be honoured with the coveted ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music’ prize at the upcoming Brit Awards 2026.
The renowned DJ and producer has been given the award in light of his unparalleled contribution to music over the course of the last two decades, from producing iconic albums such as Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black to creating movie soundtracks, including Barbie and A Star is Born.
In a statement released alongside the announcement of the news, Ronson said: “This is the most meaningful honour of my career. I think of the times I’ve watched artists I revere accept this same award. The idea that I’m now standing in that lineage feels impossible. I left England as a kid, but this country runs through everything I’ve made.”
He continued: “The UK artists I’ve worked with — their brilliance and refusal to compromise — shaped not just my work but how I understand what music should do. And more than anything, it’s the crowds here who’ve sustained and showed up for me.”
Ronson rounded off his statement by thanking “the fans, the festival crowds, the record buyers and streamers,” before adding, “the love has always been overwhelming. I’m beyond grateful for all of it.”
The DJ now becomes part of the iconic class of the Brits’ ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music’ winners, which includes Paul McCartney, Queen, Elton John, and David Bowie.
As part of the announcement, it was revealed that Ronson will be in attendance at the live ceremony on February 28th, being held for the first time at the Co-op Live in Manchester, to receive his award.
Subsequently, he will also join the growing bill of performers for the night, which currently consists of Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, and Wolf Alice.
Ronson is the second winner to be unveiled ahead of the ceremony at the end of the month, being hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall. Scottish folk singer Jacob Alon was previously revealed as the recipient of this year’s ‘Critics Choice’ award.
