Brit Awards 2024: The complete list of nominations
Ahead of the ceremony on March 2nd at London’s O2 Arena, the Brit Awards have unveiled the complete list of nominations.
In the ‘Album of the Year’ category, Blur have been nominated for their comeback record The Ballad of Darren. The four-piece will face competition from Little Simz’s No Thank You, J Hus’ Beautiful and Brutal Yard, Raye’s My 21st Century Blues and Heavy Heavy by Young Fathers.
Meanwhile, the acts fighting it out for the prestigious ‘Artist of the Year’ prize are Arlo Parks, Central Cee, Dave, Dua Lipa, Fred Again, J Hus, Jessie Ware, Little Simz, Olivia Dean and Raye. In 2023, the Brits were heavily criticised for not including any female artists in the nominations, which was won by Harry Styles.
Other categories include ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Best New Artist’, ‘International Artist of the Year’, ‘Best Rock/Alternative Act’ and ‘British Group’.
Last month, it was revealed indie newcomers The Last Dinner Party, who are scheduled to release their debut album Prelude to Ecstasy on February 2nd, have won the ‘Rising Star’ award.
In a statement, the band previously said: “It’s an honour to achieve something so iconic so early on in our career and we can only hope to keep making music that connects with all the incredible people who have listened to and supported us so far.”
