Bob Odenkirk’s new show ‘Lucky Hank’ cancelled

Lucky Hank, the new show featuring Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk, has been cancelled. The show premiered in March earlier this year, and the final episode aired back in May.

The comedy-drama series focuses on a college professor in the midst of a mid-life crisis who has reached the point of breaking and details all the chaos and fallout that arrives as a result.

An AMC spokesperson recently stated, “We’re proud of Lucky Hank and thankful for the work of everyone who brought this unique, playful and deeply human show to viewers, from the talented creative team to our partners at Sony and, of course, Bob, Mireille [Enos] and the entire cast and crew.”

The spokesperson did not detail why the show had been cancelled but confirmed that no second series would be going ahead.

They said, “Unfortunately, we are not able to proceed with a second season, but we are glad these eight episodes exist on AMC+ and will continue to find new fans – or be seen again by viewers who come back to spend more time with Hank, Lily and the entertaining cast of characters at Railton College.”

Mireille Enos played Lily, the wife of Odenkirk’s character Hank. She also began to question the decisions she’d made in her life following her husband’s crisis meltdown.

Several shows have been cancelled recently following rising production costs, and the writers’ and actors’ strikes have also led to a number of series being axed.
