Bob Dylan reveals tracklisting for ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’
Bob Dylan has detailed the tracklist of his forthcoming new album Rough and Rowdy Ways which is due out next week.
The announcement was made alongside a short animated video which was posted on Dylan’s official Instagram.
The 10-track LP will be beginning with the second release from the record, ‘I Contain Multitudes’, and the 17-minute beauty ‘Murder Most Foul’ will finish off proceedings. The third single, ‘False Prophet’, features as the second track on the record.
Rough and Rowdy Ways will arrive on streaming services on June 19 via Columbia and is also available to pre-order now.
The legendary singer-songwriter has not released an album of his own original material since 2012’s Tempest. With him instead forming an obsession around material associated with the great Frank Sinatra on his three albums released in that period: ‘Triplicate’, ‘Fallen Angels’ and ‘Shadows of the Night’.
Dylan was recently forced to cancel his US tour which coincided with the release of the album due to the ongoing pandemic. The string of shows, which was originally planned to start on June 4th in Oregon and to wrap on July 12th with a finale in New York, they were unable to find suitable dates to be rescheduled.
“To all our fans: In the interest of public health and safety and after many attempts to try and reschedule these shows for a workable timeframe this year, it is with deep regret that we announce the US Bob Dylan shows originally scheduled for June/July are cancelled,” the tweet reads.
