Blossoms have shared their cover of Frank Ocean’s ‘Lost’, recorded from their self-isolation set-up amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Stockport band posted the cover on Twitter, which sees all of the members record their parts separately from their own homes and top marks go to the drummer, Joe Donovan, for innovatively using an empty crate of Stella Artois as part of his DIY drumkit.
Blossoms recently announced the postponement of their UK tour, which included a massive North West homecoming show at Manchester Arena which has now had to be put on hold until August. Taking to Twitter they shared the newly scheduled dates, writing: “Hiya. Obviously we were all gutted to have to postpone the rest of our March dates. These shows have now been rescheduled for August. Keep hold of your tickets as they’ll remain valid for the new dates. We cant wait to see you all then”.
The ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease was first officially identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei in China. As of April 7th, more than 1,349,889 cases of COVID-19 have been officially confirmed but the actual number is thought to be much higher due to substantial under-reporting of cases.
With more than 74,820 people having died from the virus, COVID-19 has now spread into more than 180 other countries—including mainland Europe, South America and many more. Given the exponential growth in cases in countries like Italy, Spain, Germany, France and the UK, the WHO stated that Europe became the epicentre of the pandemic after the strict lockdown in China saw reduced numbers. Now, however, as the virus continues to spread aggressively across The United States—who have more confirmed cases than any other country—the epicentre of coronavirus is expected to be officially changed to North America.
