Bloc Party perform ‘Banquet’ from their iconic LP ‘Silent Alarm’ on James Corden

One of the most prominent bands of the indie movement of the early noughties, Bloc Party are back on the road and celebrating their iconic debut LP Silent Alarm. Last week they performed ‘Banquet’ on TV for the first time in years.

The band have been touring the album for most of this year, celebrating 15 years of Silent Alarm and performing it in full and some selected gigs.

The band took to the stage of James Corden’s Late Late Show to give a rare rendition of ‘Banquet’.

With the band doused in the ultra-sleek lighting Kele Okereke and co. looked back to their very best as they rattled through the indie dancefloor filler ‘Banquet’.

It’s a song that typified the band’s early output. It’s a song filled with hooks, a driving melody and an idiosyncratic sense of purpose. It’s a song that actually typifies a whole scene.
