Icelandic pop icon Björk has been forced to postpone her planned orchestral shows amid the current health crisis.
With all proceeds from the shows being donated to charity, Björk was due to take to the stage at Harpa Hall in Reykjavík the On August 9, 15 and 23 and the musician was also planning to welcome a live audience in the venue.
Now, however, the The Orkestral series will be put on ice until the shows can go ahead safely amid the pandemic issues.
“Despite the huge excitement around coming together on August 9th, it is of the utmost importance that the health and safety of everyone involved in the performance is ensured by following government regulations,” Björk said in a previous statement regarding the postponement.
“Björk and Iceland Airwaves are committed to doing their part in stopping the spread of the virus and will continue to monitor closely the recommendations of the authorities.”

28 – Björk with strings from Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, harpist Katie Buckley & conductor Bjarni Frímann Bjarnason
