It’s been too long since Bill S. Preston Esquire and Ted “Theodore” Logan first arrived onto the silver screen with their own brand of teenage antics. The two good-natured metal-heads are back and they’ve even brought Death with them. Excellent.
Back in March last year, when Bill & Ted Face The Music was announced, it was confirmed that Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon have helmed the writing of the project. The film that captured the hearts of millions looks like it is in full flow. Photos show Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) back in the phone booth, looking a bit older and wearier than the last time we saw the duo back in 1991.
The team are in the iconic time-travelling location and death is also shown to have come along for the ride—the role that will be once again played by William Sadler.
“The stakes are higher than ever for the time-travelling exploits of Bill and Ted,” the film’s synopsis reads. “Yet to fulfil their rock and roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it. Along the way, they will be helped by their daughters, a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends—to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe.”
The film’s writer, Chris Matheson said if the production: “[Bill and Ted] were told when they were teenagers that they were going to save reality, and they’ve been working on it the whole time…Now an emissary from the future comes and says, ‘You’ve got to do it right now. We’ve got literally 80 minutes or all of reality will come to an end.’”
Bill & Ted Face the Music is set to open August 21st, 2020. Check out the photos, below.
