Just a few weeks after they dropped their brilliant album U.F.O.F Big Thief have announced that a new album will be out very soon. They celebrated the announcement of Two Hands, the new LP, by releasing the first track from it; ‘Not’. It’s our Track of the Day.

The work on the new record began just a few days after the sessions which brought us U.F.O.F and will arrive on October 11th via those clever sods at 4AD. The recording sessions were conducted at Sonic Ranch Studios just 30 miles away from El Paso.

The announcement is bolstered by the release of a track that the band often play live and is a clear fan-favourite – ‘Not’. The track is a wrenching and enveloping song, filled with pouring hearts and bleeding minds, it’s another crucial and authentic release from a top-quality band.

Two Hands has the songs that I’m the most proud of; I can imagine myself singing them when I’m old,” Adrianne Lenker said in a statement. “Musically and lyrically, you can’t break it down much further than this. It’s already bare-bones.”

The band have also announced a tour alongside all this and will donate a portion of proceeds from their shows to various good causes. In the United States, Little Kids Rock and Youth Speaks will benefit. Canadian shows will donate to DANS LA RUE, Sketch, and UNYA. While European ticket sales will go towards helping Hangarmusik, UK shows in 2020 will benefit Girls Rock London.
