Best Coast share cover the Beach Boys Christmas hit 'Little Saint Nick'

Given the festive time of the year, enjoy Best Coast’s dreamy cover of the Beach Boys hit ‘Little Saint Nick’.

The original song, which was written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love and released in December 1963, was inspired by record producer Phil Spector’s plans to record a Christmas album. “I wrote the lyrics to it while I was out on a date and then I rushed home to finish the music,” Wilson once explained.

The Best Coast version, which originally appeared as part of Amazon Music’s holiday playlists, fell as part of a collaborative album which included tracks from the likes of Albert Hammond Jr., Kevin Morby and others.

“Being from California and being heavily influenced by the Beach Boys we felt like we had to cover this one,” Bethany Cosentino said in a statement upon the track’s release.

“Also always fun for me to cover a song with a wall of harmonies and background vocals because it’s my favorite part about recording vocals.”
