Beck works with NASA for visual album ‘Hyperspace: A.I. Exploration’

Last year Beck released his album Hyperspace and now the musician is looking to turn these songs into something more visual. What’s more, he’s doing it with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

The final effort is called Hyperspace: A.I. Exploration and is a cosmic collaboration that sees a whirlwind of music, data, video and that scary thing: artificial intelligence.

The press release revealed that the “realisation of these hyperspaces was executed by A.I. architects and directors OSK, who asked ‘How would artificial intelligence imagine our universe?’”

“In finding the answer, OSK created a unique A.I. utilising computer vision, machine learning and Generative Adversarial neural Networks (GAN) to learn from NASA’s vast archives,” continued the statement.

“After training on hundreds of thousands of images, videos and data points from NASA’s space exploration research and missions, the Hyperspace A.I. then began creating its own visions of our universe.”

It means that Beck’s songs were paired with an iconic NASA mission. You’ll have to head over to the interactive website to truly begin your exploration and we suggest you start right away.
