‘Beautiful Place to Die’ is a piece of reverb-drenched indie-rock that manages to sound sparse while also carrying a potent intensity.
Although it is by no means a walk in the park, this time around it does feel like the band have taken a slightly softer approach. But this brings with layers and new earworms that simply did not exist before. Dare we say it, it might even be fair to suggest this is post-rock at its best.
It remains to be seen whether this really is a concrete sign of things to come, but for now simply sit back, strap yourself in and enjoy the ride that is Autobahn with ‘Beautiful Place to Die’.
