Holy Shit! One of our favourite festivals is being curated by one of our favourite comedians of all time.
ATP 2016 will be curated by the enigmatically ambivalent Stewart Lee with all his musical knowledge and undeniable style we are looking forward to this year’s upcoming fest more than any other. Usually curated by musicians this year’s ATP 2.0 sees Stewart Lee bucking the trend alongside visual artisit Matt Groening and The Chapman Brothers both of whom have previously curated the event.
April’s Stewart Lee curated ATP 2.0 festival will be held at Pontins camp in Prestatyn, North Wales – a site which benefits from being well-situated to serve ATP’s nationwide and international customer base.
Lee said “Of all the ATPs I’ve attended, the 2001 weekend, when Tortoise curated it and laid American free jazz, European improv noise, alternative country rock, alienating stand-up comedy, ambient electronica, Eighties hardcore, Seventies CBGBs nostalgia, smart-arse post punk, Dutch anarcho-jazz and all manner of unexpected cross-currents on curious young people, remains a pivotal point in my musical education. It’s a great honour to be allowed to attempt something similar. Bring bucket, spade, swimwear and an open mind.”
