Astronomer confirms investigation into CEO caught having affair at Coldplay concert

Astronomer has confirmed they have launched an investigation into its CEO, Andy Byron, after he was caught in an embrace with the company’s Head of HR on a kiss cam in the middle of a Coldplay concert. in Boston.

The footage, which has since gone viral and been viewed tens of millions of times online, shows the couple appearing on the kiss cam in the middle of the show. After both of them ducked out of the frame, frontman Chris Martin engaged in what was meant to be playful banter with them, telling the stadium, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re very shy.”

The couple was later confirmed to be Byron, CEO of the tech company Astronomer and Kriston Cabot, Head of HR at the same company. Now, as the internet has taken hold of the viral moment, Astronomer has released a statement discussing Byron’s behaviour and announcing an investigation into the matter.

On their social media page, the company emphasised the code of conduct it expects from their entire team, saying, “Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.”

They have also said they are launching an investigation into the CEO, explaining that they “will have additional details to share very shortly.”

Alongside Byron and Cabot, fans online had wrongly speculated whether the woman they had pivoted to was Alyssa Stoddard, who had recently been appointed the company’s Vice President. However, Astronomer has also since confirmed that Stoddard was not the woman in question, and no other employee of the company was in attendance that night.

This official message from the company also comes after the release of a mock viral apology that appeared to come from Byron following the incident. In the fraudulent statement, someone impersonating Byron claimed to “take accountability” for his actions, while also saying, “how troubling it is that what should have been a private moment became public without my consent. I respect artists and entertainers, but I hope we can all think more deeply about the impact of turning someone else’s life into a spectacle.” This statement has also been confirmed as false by the company.

Though there has been no statement given by Byron’s wife, she has since allegedly removed his last name from her social media pages following the incident.

Byron and Cabot are yet to comment on the situation.
