Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders provides update on new album

Matt Helders has provided Arctic Monkeys fans with a major update on the progress of a potential new album.

With members of the Sheffield band busy on side projects in recent years, fans have been lift spinning the record of their most recent album which was 2013’s AM.

The band have been quiet on any potential new material during that time, but Helders, who hinted that he was back in the studio a couple of months ago, has provided an update.

As the New Musical Express claim, Monkeys fan Will Franco, otherwise known as ‘scummyman’, shared a photo of himself with Helders after he met the drummer at a recent Royal Blood gig in Los Angeles.

Now I know we’re scrapping the barrel in search of desperate Monkeys news, but in the comments section of the post a fan asked if Helders offered an potential release date of album number six to which Franco replied: “I did. He told me hopefully by the end of the year.”

There you fucking go. End of the year. 100 per cent confirmed by our reliable source, Mr scummyman. Sorted.
